Alisha Grace Perrett. Lives in Cambridge and has been my best friend since childhood. Blonde hair, brown eyes like me and with a similar life story to me, our paths crossed and our lives were changed for the better. We met when we were three, in Beijing, China. Our parents were in the same missionary organization and so we met and became friends. Little did we know that in 14 years, we would be best friends.
Having a best friend can mean so many different things, and the type of relationship you have entirely depends on the personalities of the two people. We build each other up. We’re there for each other, and no matter how far apart, we always make time for each other.
Alisha has influenced me in so many ways and has helped me get through some of life’s hardest trials, encouraging me to never give up. She helps me see the positive side when all I can see are the bad things. She inspires me to be the best version of myself, and teaches me to listen, to be patient, and to be forgiving. Her influence has led me to be a kinder person, and to see the world from a different perspective. Her unique influence taught me to look at life as an opportunity to do better each day, and to strive to be loving, in a world that needs love.
When I was going through a hard time, she came and talked to me and told me that no matter what happened as long as I don’t give up, as long as I have faith, everything would be okay. My outlook on life has shifted, and I am able to strive for better things each day because of the influence she has had on me.

I really enjoyed this essay and the pictures you placed along with it to help the audience understand better who your best friend is. What I liked most about this essay is how you introduced your best friend first and how you were able to describe the types of influences she has on you to make you a better person. After reading this essay, it made me reflect on my life, whether there was someone who has that type of influence in my life as well. It really is a true blessing to find someone with those qualities in your life.
