I think that time is a constant in this world, maybe. Time is always passing, the seconds ticking away, as we wake up, do the day, breathe, and as our hearts beat, time is changing. Even though I know that is true, I do not understand time. I was told that the closer you are to the equator, the faster the seconds are. That’s insane. How can time be faster in one place and slower in the other. It doesn’t make sense in my mind. I can’t comprehend it. Time should be the same about everywhere. How can time be faster? If time is really like that, are we even measuring time correctly? What if it’s actually meant to be 100 seconds is a minute, or 30 seconds is a minute. I guess then the minutes would just be longer or shorter but the actual time hasn’t changed.
I think that when we are careless of the time, and so focused on what we love and spending time doing things that are enjoyable, we lose track of time. We forget time exists and just live in the moment. When we stop and think, and live our lives based on the numbers that represent time, it becomes our world. We look at it all the time, we now need it to live life, and we can’t imagine what we would do if we didn’t have a number on a clock or watch to tell us what to do next. There’s a saying that “time waits for no one” and I think this is very true. Time just slips through our fingers, but it’s our choice what we do with the time we are given. It’s our choice to be late to everything, or to be early, or just on time. We choose what role time plays in our lives. Time is always passing, but we have the chance to seize every second of it.
